The fist time I heard Ms. Karen Anne Carpenter voice and the lyrics of the songs that she sang, I fell in love with it. The songs that you sang Ms. Carpenter are my inspiratins of why I live my life the way I want to live it today, it's like a depiction. I wish you were here today to create such masterpiece because some modern songs don't sooth me--I guess it's mean of me to say...I'm quite young (well not that young anymore ever since I first found a cassette tape of yours and your brothers in my mom's micellaneous record collections)and I still buy your records now that they are CDs. I love the Carpenters!!!

I think of Karen every Christmas and miss her very much. It is nearing 20 years since she died and I can still remember where I was when I heard of her death. It is still hard for me to believe she is gone forever. I miss you Karen, but I am sure you must have been needed to sing for God, since He took you from us so quickly to be with Him.

Whein you hear karen sing. It's like hearing The Voice of an angle I First heard of Karen around the summer of 2001 I fell in love wih her voice and it sent a chill up my spine. Karen's Voice is verry unique because it's her's and her's alone. God blessed her and gave her a gife so she can tuch us all and make us all humble. So we cry whein we hear it because we feel her pain. Not many People have such a gift as Karen had she was a one of a kind human being. I hope she's enjoying heaven and singing in god's chorus of angles R I P Karen

The first time I heard Karens voice in 1970, I couldn't beleive what a beatiful tone and feeling she had. I immediately fell in love with her and her music. I believe she has the most soul stiring voice ever to to be put on tape.I now have all her CD's and I can honrstly say that I love every track because there is something speacial in her voice that I have never heard in any other female singer, she touches my soul every time, and the way she cracks her voice really turns me on everytime. I just love her and I wish I knew her personnaly and that she was with us today. She is truly a beautiful spirit and the greatest singer I have ever heard.

Antidepressants Sung in the voice of Karen Carpenter to the tune of On Top of the World Not much feeling's comin' over me. People wonder how I set my troubles free. 'Cause there's no cry in my eye, And I'm not low, and I'm not high, And I won't get upset or blow off steam. Everything is not what it should be, But it doesn't make no difference to me. And the reason is clear: It's this pill I got here. I'm the nearest thing to level that I've been. 'Cause I'm on antidepressants, Poppin' this great prescription, Since this wonderful physician came on by. And this drug that I found Took away my ups and downs. I'm no longer so pissed off at the world. I'm not pissed (off...) pissed at the world, No more (frowns...) frowns or elation. I'm not feeling much emotion low or high. And these drugs that I've found Take away my ups and downs. Prozac's put me in my own little world.

Love to express my opinion about the greatest alto singer of all times but i found it a little difficult. You see i am 65 with bad eye site and found it a little difficultto find. Just too bad that Richard can't find another great alto singer to work with and be able to express his great talent. Of course there will never be another like her. Would you please post this message on your site. Love Joyce

Karen's voice was my the first introduction to music.. My mom played her records and I would sing along when I was a child..My love for her music has grown over the years and I feel she has left a great legacy of singers who sing so effortless and can touch the heart at the sound of her voice. A friend of mine once said . " her voice is cuts like a razor" a strange metephor I realize but I took the context to mean her voice can open even the hardened of hearts and expose the love inside of ourselves. To this day I still cry when "We've Only Just Begun" plays becaue my mother does and it reminds both of us when I was first adopted to my parents. My greatest appreciation to Richard and the Carpenter family for allowing us to continue to celebrate Karen's life in music. Todd m Lyon Hollywood , Fl

I am a 45 years old bass. Although I am not a professional singer (I am a college literature professor), I do performances every now and then, and the inspiration in my voice has only one name: Karen Carpenter. My line of singing is easy listening and love songs. No other pop singer in the music history of the USA has had the great qualities of Karen´s voice: an enormous range, a dark but yet soft and harmonious voice. Karen was a gift from God to the music world. This page is a blessing and I want to thank you for putting it together. AJF

I just couldn't leave without leaving another message thanking Karen and Richard for giving me a gift. The fact that they are and were so open to allow all these emotions of theirs for us and for their willingness to share in the battle of Karen's disease, of which I also have been battling for years and years now and am losing, I would be a lost soul. So keep giving us your talent Richard and please keep allowing for us to share in your lives. You have no idea how happy you make your friends and allow us to mourn and love you forever and ever. Please grace us with your smiles, your music and anything else you wish to share with us. We are sincerely grateful for and to you. God Bless and we love you dearly. My thoughts and prayers are forever with you.

I met Karen and Richard when I was in Elementary School at a Concert in Sacramento. They were "the" most Wonderful People in the World. We had a long conversation and made friends easily. Today, I am 41 and have been battling Anorexia, like Karen, not by choice, since my late teens/early twenties. God has somehow been very giving to me to let me be alive until today. But, this disease has finally taken it's toll on me and I am now at death's door. Do not blame Karen for her disease or me for my disease. It just happens to you, like I said, not by choice. It is a horrible disease and I wish it were not in existence. I miss Karen so very much it hurts. I miss Richard as well. I only wish he could remember me now. I know if I had a few minutes with him, he would. It doesn't matter really, I just wish the best for him and hope he continues to thrive and bless us with his talent for a very long time. Thank you for everything Karen and thank you for your talent and continued support in all you do. I love you both and I will miss the thought of what you two could have brought to this World. However, the music will "never" ever die and for that I am extremely grateful. God Bless!
