Thank you Karen Carpenter for filling my life with happiness. I love you, I love your angelical voice, and I love all of your songs. I often listen to my all-time favorite song by you, Top of the World, which makes me feel you are still alive. Your death was a tragic event in my life. No one will ever replace you in my heart. I will join you one day on the hope that you would sing for me. Rest in peace my sweet angel. You will always be number one for ever and ever.

i grew up listening and dancing to the carpenters. i remember the day when my mom told me karen died. i was only six years old, but i rememer how sad i was. that was my first exposure to the life-threatening disease anorexia-nervosa (i'm grateful for my knowledge of eating disorders). i still remember that day very well. i was so sad. ever since then, i have had a deep respect for karen. i remember when my mom bought the album that had richard's remarks about karen's death and his sadness written on the back - i just cried. to richard and the carpenter family - my love to you all. you will see karen again in heaven. we all love her and her voice. she has a voice that lives on and on. karen's and richard's music will always be played in my home! (the christmas portrait album is my family's all-time-favorite christmas album)

i have spent many hours performing your songs to the general public, i have kept as close as possible to the way karen has sung them(it started when i heard sing a song in the back of my parents combie when i was about 7 years old )i'm a bit older than that now,i love immensly singing them and when i do people always come up to me and say they thought the radio was on , which makes me very ,very proud because i always loved karen"s voice. So thanks karen and richard for giving me the chance to feel good about myself. sheree xxx

Twenty years on and the voice is still unique. Had the wonderful pleasure of seeing them on stage when touring the UK and still marvel at the beauty of their songs and lyrics. A truly wonderful performer greatly missed. Thank you for the pleasure you gave.

I am very surprised and pleased as to the amount of web-sites/postings concerning The Carpenters/Karen Carpenter. I think that, due to the type of (soft/Romantic) music they composed/recorded, most people are NOT AWARE that they were among the MOST TALENTED/GIFTED musicians that ever lived. The day Karen Carpenter died was a day where I revised my opinion of this world, DOWNWARD. I am thankful I had a chance to see them perform (in 1976) before Karen passeed on. WILLIAM WARREN NOTE: There is a web-site on the Net about The Carpenters being associated with DeathRock "before her barf-related death". It should be DESTROYED! WILLIAM WARREN

I loved that woman. I was at a car dealership a day or so ago and heard Just one word in the song last a day without you, and knew it was her voice. My whole family loves the carpenters. I think their best work was "I just fall in love again" thank you for allowing me to say these things on your site.

Such a heartache for such a wonderful person to leave us in such a early life. You touched us with you music and words that personified love in its fullest..yet out of those years you were calling for someone to love you. Even though you're gone, you live on through your fans that carry on your legacy. I listened to your music when i was young and to this day I have to at least listen to one of your songs to make my day. Karen, for all that you've given us, our gratitude from the ones that loved you.

I have a question about the TV movie "The Karen Carpenter story." Does anyone know what song she sings near the end, in a scene with her brother and Herb Albert? She wants to sing it again, but they think the first try was good enough. I'm dying to find this out! Thanks in advance.

I have listened to the music of Karen since I was a little girl. Now that I have children of my own they listen to her music almost daily. When we are on trips her cd's are the first we listen to and sing the songs over and over again. Now my youngest is doing a biography about her. She has inspired many people and I am glad my girls are two of them.

Karen's passing has been very hard for me to deal with since day 1...I was supposed to record a song with her back in 1969, but I was told that there was some kind of a legal, contract, or personal problem and that she regretted she could not record the song with me...she and I had passed a few nice verbal comments back and forth to each other...this is the first time I have ever been able to talk about it anywhere...it has been too painful..thanks for listening and for this wonderful tribute.
